Students
Student Initiatives
Our students come from developed and developing countries, and all are focused on finding solutions to the international and global environment and resource problems facing the world today. These students come from the private sector, governments and non-governmental organizations. All have lived abroad, and traveled extensively. They are truly Fletcher global citizens.
Environmental Sustainability Initiative
The Environmental Sustainability Initiative (ESI), as a student-run organization of the Fletcher School, seeks to supplement our studies through a variety of activities related to environmental and energy issues. These can include inviting speakers, hosting forums and debates, organizing education programs for ESI members as well as the Tufts and larger community, career workshops, and advocacy for the environment on the international level or the levels of our local community, and other appropriate activities.
For more information, please visit the ESI website.
Students for Responsible Business
The Fletcher School holds a chapter membership in Net Impact, allowing Fletcher students to register as individual Net
Impact members for $10 per year. Net Impact, a non-profit organization, is a network of emerging business leaders
committed to using the power of business to create a better world. Originally founded as Students for Responsible
Business in 1993, Net Impact has developed from a great idea shared by a few business students into a mission-driven
network of more than 9,000 new leaders for better business. Through our central office and more than 90 student and
professional chapters worldwide, we offer a portfolio of programs to help members broaden their business education,
refine their leadership skills, and pursue their professional goals, while building their network.
For more information, please visit the Net Impact website.
W.I.L.D.
Founded in 2001, W.I.L.D offers opportunities for students at the Fletcher School to interact in the outdoors. Our trips
and activities bring students together in a non-academic setting, which allows individuals with a variety of academic
interests/past experiences to meet each other who might not have otherwise. W.I.L.D.’s activities include: hiking,
biking, canoeing, kayaking, apple picking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, skating, rock climbing, and running.

SustainUS
A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization of young people advancing sustainable development and youth empowerment in the
United States, many Fletcher students are involved in SustainUS events, planning and administration. Through proactive
education and advocacy at the policy-making and grassroots levels, the involvement of CIERP students contributes to
the organization’s interest in building a future in which all people recognize the inherent equality and
interdependence of social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
