- The RING For Sustainable Development--A global Consortium for Action and Research
(Prof. Adil Najam, Research Driver.) Professor Adil Najam is the acting research driver for the RING. The objective of gathering North and South
scientists and policy makers for the RING is to ensure that international sustainable development policy making
and institutions are informed and influenced by local realities, and hence is supportive and enabling of local
action. The RING works to ensure the full participation and understanding of the rights and responsibilities of
all major stakeholders in the environment and development policy making process, including the private sector,
the state and civil society.
