News from the CIERP - Fall 2005

Four Fletcher students, a representative from the Center, a faculty member of Tufts’ water certificate program just returned from conducting two stakeholder workshops in Central America-one in Chetumal, Mexico; the other in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. Each person either gave a presentation or acted as a facilitator for these meetings on the state of transboundary watershed pollution in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System region. The analyses conducted included hydrological, legal/institutional, ecological/natural resource use and socioeconomic. This work is part of a partnership that CIERP has with the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (MBRS) project and NOAA. For more information on MBRS, go to www.mbrs.org.bz
