LUIS A. VIADA Managing Director, Corporate Development The McGraw-Hill Companies Luis Viada is responsible for directing the corporation’s growth strategy outside the United States, including acquisitions, alliances and partnerships in the financial services and global publishing. Prior to his current position, Mr. Viada was Latin American Region Head for Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services where he was responsible for the overall management of the company’s analytical resources, business development, and operations in the region. During his three years as Region Head, Standard & Poor’s established its first local operations in the region by acquiring the top Mexican rating agency, and later established affiliate offices in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Mr. Viada came to Standard & Poor’s after 16 years of international corporate banking with Citibank, where he held senior positions in China, Philippines, Turkey, and Venezuela. Mr. Viada has an MS degree from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and a BA degree in Political Science from Tufts University.
