Stephen A. DeSalvo Steve is the Group Executive for Fleet Global Rate Markets, which encompasses both the Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Derivatives business of the Bank. He assumed this role in 2001 after spending 2 years as the Head of Sales where he was responsible for sales performance in Boston, London and Singapore. Steve’s career spans 20 years with Fleet in a broad spectrum of roles. Early in his career, Steve lived in Bolivia and Brazil where he was responsible for the lending platform, credit analysis and asset recovery. After returning to the U.S., Steve worked as a Senior Banker in the Media Finance division and played a leadership role in the Corporate Banker Training Program. Capitalizing on his experience working in Latin American emerging markets, Steve then joined the newly formed Emerging Markets Capital Markets group for three years. His responsibilities were to set up and manage Capital Markets and Syndicate functions responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting and distributing emerging market corporate and sovereign debt. Steve graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
