Global Consulting Program
This consulting program, offered every spring semester, is designed to couple sponsor organizations, including Fortune 1000 companies, consulting firms, and governments, in need of consulting on key international business issues with Fletcher student consulting teams. The student consulting teams provide actionable results while gaining valuable experience supporting executive decision makers on international risk, trade, competition and market entry decisions.
Fletcher students enrolled in the Field Studies in Global Consulting Course undertake international consulting projects to help sponsor companies address key needs. Example of past projects include:
- US market investment opportunities and challenges for Dominican Republic avocado and hair care producers, National Competitiveness Council, Government of the Dominican Republic
- Emerging market due diligence for the world’s leading online career network and management company;
- Latin American market entry strategy for innovative new product for a leading South African-based bank;
- A strategy to introduce investment products for institutional investors in the GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE) for a leading US bank;
- Competitive analysis and market study of Spanish-language teaching and product development opportunities in the US for a leading Spanish publisher;
- Foreign direct investment opportunities in the real estate market for the Serbian Investment and Promotion Agency, Government of Serbia, Belgrade;
- A pricing assessment of professional services in key Asian markets for a worldwide consulting firm
- Specific county reviews of market opportunities in key businesses as input into the formulation of corporate global strategy for a global publishing firm;
Client sponsors on these project are Presidents, EVPs, SVPs and Directors. The benefits to sponsor organizations and their decision makers are actionable results in areas . Challenging international consulting projects that require a multi-disciplinary approach, cross-cultural and foreign language skills can be successfully addressed. In many cases, Fletcher student consultants provide a fresh, first look at a new international market, assess the competitive environment and make recommendations on strategy and tactics. Fletcher students possess excellent research and business skills coupled with unique backgrounds in international business, trade, policy, economics, and finance.
