GMAP Admissions

Applicants to GMAP are highly motivated mid - to senior level professionals interested in pursuing a Master of Arts degree in international affairs without interrupting their professional careers.  Over a one year period, GMAP combines three intensive two-week residency sessions with 33 weeks of flexible Internet-mediated instruction.

Admissions to GMAP occur on a rolling basis. We review applications for GMAP Summer from December to May for admission to the July class, with notification of applicants three weeks after each review. GMAP Spring Start reviews begin in September and continue through January for admission to the class beginning in March.  Applications are reviewed by a committee comprising Fletcher administration and faculty.

The ideal candidate to GMAP should possess the following:

  • Minimum of eight years professional experience
  • Current position with international focus
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • General proficiency in a second language

US Department of Defense-sponsored applicants to GMAP Spring Start should apply directly through the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
