Karen Hussmann
Independent Consultant
Karen Hussmann holds a Master in Public Policies and Management and has worked for the last 12 years on anti-corruption, transparency and good governance issues around the world. Her specific experience as anti-corruption specialist with UNDP in Afghanistan and a study on anti-corruption policies in the Democratic Republic of Congo have broadened her insights and interest in looking at the links between corruption and conflict in (post-) conflict countries. During her 9 years with Transparency International, both at the international headquarters in Berlin and as regional coordinator for Latin America based in Colombia and Chile, she contributed to the design of and coordinated anti-corruption / integrity programmes of a wide network of civil society organizations in Latin America. Also, as a policy analyst and advisor of Bitran & Associates, a health economics company, she analyzed health policies in Africa and Asia and developed recommendations for improvement with special focus on transparency and accountability.
