Guidelines for Student Research Funding
CEME provides modest fellowships to Fletcher School graduate students (Ph.D., MALD, and MIB candidates) in support of travel and primary research that engage CEME’s four program topics, with a specific focus on emerging market enterprises. CEME encourages students to work with CEME staff and Fletcher professors to craft a deliverable that can also be used to both provide a research product to CEME in exchange for funding as well as to fulfill academic or thesis/dissertation requirements. In addition, CEME considers student research to be a valuable contribution to CEME’s program development and resource content, and may choose to feature selected student projects on its website or in its publications. Some student projects may be used to enhance existing or develop new CEME initiatives. - Kurt Eilhardt, MALD 2009: Independent research project in Nairobi, Kenya (August 2008) entitled “Understanding the financial, regional and foreign-investment variables affecting the development of Kenyan capital markets
- Sarah Cartmell, MALD 2009: Summer internship and related research in Paris, France (Summer 2008) with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Investment Committee to explore corporate social responsibility guidelines and labor standards for multinational corporations
