Working for beverage giant Coca-Cola after college gave Ben Micheel a good perspective on the macro-level trends that are defining business today. However, he found that his financial knowledge was limited to the more operational foundations such as reading cash flow statements and understanding balance sheets. He wanted to better understand the capital markets driving large businesses today.

“At Fletcher, I took a lot of quantitative classes in international finance, econometrics, and international monetary theory,” says Micheel. “These classes gave me what I needed, but what made them unique was that my classmates were a very diverse group of people with different interests. It honed my ability to understand and speak to a variety of perspectives. Combining the quantitative skills with the analytical and communication skills will serve me well in my consulting career.”
