The Fletcher School

A Graduate School of International Affairs

2008-09 Student Profiles

Nicholas K. Wachira, MIB 2010, Kenya

Why I chose Fletcher: “As a professional journalist seeking a broader business education in the context of global current affairs, Fletcher stood out for me because of its long tradition of academic strength and prestige among the top professional schools of international affairs. The experience has been eye opening and rewarding.”

A typical day at Fletcher: “On a typical day, classes might range from discussing a case study exploring the financing strategies of a Fortune 500 company in the context of the current financial crisis on Wall Street, to evaluating brand building at a major non-governmental organization, to a crisis management simulation of a major terrorist disaster and being taught the politics and culture of a particular region in its native language. I have especially found the Fletcher open curriculum very attractive because it has allowed me to tailor my educational experience in a truly interesting way."
