On Fletcher alumni: “I was impressed by the accessibility and helpfulness of Fletcher alumni from the outset of my interactions with the school. Before beginning a single course at Fletcher, I was put in contact with alumni of similar professional interests in Vancouver, London, Washington D.C., and Kyiv, and had benefited from phone conversations, email exchanges, and even a discussion over coffee in London. From just these few interactions, a picture began to emerge of a close-knit community with sincere interest in being of benefit to their fellow and future alums. What impressed me even more than my interactions with the alumni network was that I found the reality at Fletcher not only matched up with what they had told me, but consistently exceeded my already high expectations in terms of the breadth of the curriculum, the accessibility of the faculty, the richness of the community life, the abundance of opportunities for personal enrichment, and the quality and diversity of my classmates.”

A quintessential Fletcher moment: “A quintessential Fletcher moment was encapsulated in my first group project meeting at Fletcher in my Financial Statement Management course. In addition to myself, my group contained an economist and a Deloitte-trained accountant from Thailand, a software engineer originally from India, and a naval officer from Singapore. The variety of cultures and professional experiences in our group enriched us all personally and academically. We performed very well on the project and, as a capstone, enjoyed a wonderful home-cooked Singaporean dinner courtesy of our new friend and his gracious wife. This one interaction reflects my consistent experience—Fletcher attracts a population of students that is diverse to an extent beyond which one typically finds in an academic setting. The personal and professional benefits of interactions like these, which are a daily occurrence at Fletcher, cannot be overstated for those of us that have had the opportunity to be a part of them.”
