A personal evaluative interview is a valuable way for you to share information about yourself and to learn how The Fletcher School will meet your academic and professional goals. The interview is strongly recommended, but is not a required part of the admissions process. PhD applicants in particular are strongly encouraged to schedule an interview.
Interviews are generally conducted daily during the academic year from September through December 15th, and on a more limited basis until January 9th. To schedule an interview, please contact the Office of Admissions. As availability is limited, we encourage you to schedule your interview well in advance of the desired date. We recommend having your interview before submitting your application so that your interview is included in the assessment of your application.
Interviews are generally conducted by carefully selected and trained Fletcher students. The format is relaxed and designed to provide insight into The Fletcher School and allows you to share information that may not have a place on the application form. The interviewer will take notes about your goals and perceived ability to succeed at The Fletcher School. The notes will become part of your application file.
Small group information sessions and tours will be conducted during the summer by current students or Admissions Staff.
Sessions will be held each Monday, from June 1 through August 24, at 11:00 a.m.
Please contact the Office of Admissions in advance to register for one of these events and confirm the schedule. Note that Information Sessions will start again in the fall semester on Monday, September 14, and will be held weekly at 12:30 each Monday and Friday.
We invite you to sit in on classes during your visit to Fletcher. You may wish to review the current course schedule in advance. Advance registration is not required—we simply ask that you come to the class a few minutes before it begins to introduce yourself to the professor. Please drop by the Admissions Office on the day of your visit to confirm the schedule.
Talking with current students about all Fletcher has to offer is one of the best ways for you to get to know the school. Every weekday morning from 9:00 - 10:00am, students gather for a free morning coffee break in the Hall of Flags. Feel free to drop by and chat.
