For the most part, The Fletcher School website follows punctuation, capitalization and usage guidelines outlined in the Associated Press Stylebook Online, which is available to the entire Fletcher community through the Ginn Library (password required).

ID – Short for identification; all caps, no periods used.
INITIALS – No space between initials in personal names: J.D. Salinger.
INSURE/ENSURE - Use insure only in the commercial sense as in auto, life and health insurance. Use ensure in the more general sense to mean guarantee or make certain.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – Preferred phrase (over “foreign students”).
INTERNET – Always capitalized.
IT’S, ITS – The contraction it’s means it is: It’s snowing in Boston. The possessive of it is its: Its dimensions will not fit.
