Why I chose Fletcher: From
northern Uganda, a land of war and misery and yet full of hope, I
contemplated how best we can build a lasting peace. Something more
peaceful than just the silence of guns; peace that embraces development
and respect of human dignity. I looked for a school that would not only
guide me on the art of resolving conflicts or diplomatic processes, but
a school that would also groom me into a true leader. A leader needs to
see things holistically and globally, and to be a global citizen in
outlook and attitude. I knew Fletcher would help me become just that. I
fell in love with its interdisciplinary program, faculty, and
community. It is my first time outside Africa, but at Fletcher, I found
another home away from home.
