The Power of the Campus Visit: Fletcher wasn't actually on my radar until the beginning of the application process in October 2015. I was visiting family in Boston over the weekend and someone recommended that I look into Tufts University and, more specifically, The Fletcher School. Quickly, I realized that the MIB program could be a good fit for me. Indeed, it seemed like a great combination of practical business strategies and a more academically rigorous approach. Also, I was very curious to take classes in other subjects such as history, policy, and economics. I visited campus in April and attended the Inclusion Inc. conference organized by Fletcher’s Institute for Business in the Global Context. That visit made my decision. The topics covered during the conference – such as the circular economy, impact investing, and reduction in income inequality – were right up my alley. More importantly, the individuals I met were welcoming, interesting, and passionate about their projects. I sensed a true feeling of community that I didn't see elsewhere. Collaboration, leadership, and open-mindedness are three very important values for me and I believe that they are overwhelmingly present here at Fletcher.

On Diverse Perspectives: With a finance major under my belt, one of the big reasons I joined Fletcher was the diversity of the classes offered. I am currently enrolled in the Role of Force class taught by Professor Schultz, who is an expert on security matters. The discussions are insightful and the ideas brought forward by the military fellows are essential. Indeed, having different angles and perspectives to tackle problems is key to finding sound solutions, and I believe Fletcher provides that environment very well.
