Justin Chinyanta, 2010, Zambia

Founder and Chairman, The Loita Group (Loita Holdings Corporation Africa) - Mauritius

Something that surprised me about Fletcher: I was surprised by the highly diverse professional backgrounds and experience of my classmates. This thoroughly enriched the analysis of issues whether for a classroom project by way of a study group, or navigating the proposed program of action for The Fletcher International Law Society. Additionally, I found that the Fletcher student community has a very international profile and professional curiosity. The diversity of the student body enables a mini United Nations experience with firsthand accounts of Albanian to Zambian life experiences.

How I plan to use my experience at Fletcher to make a difference in the world: The flexibility of the Fletcher curriculum enabled me to structure my courses in a way that optimized my quest for a cross disciplinary approach. The experience equipped and re-equipped me with the theoretical and practical tools necessary for my eventual entrance into public life in my home country, where I hope to contribute meaningfully to the reduction of poverty and enhancement of quality of life.
