Michael Baskin, United States

Fellow - Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), US Department of Energy

Why I chose Fletcher:
I chose Fletcher because it had the right mix of experience to match academic excellence. As someone who is interested in working on, and hopefully contributing to, solving real-world issues, I thought Fletcher would be the best place to study and grow.

How my experience at Fletcher has changed the way I look at the world: Fletcher has started, and I hope continues, to deepen my thoughts about events in the world while providing me with mental frameworks to evaluate them. If there is one thing I am taking away from class right now, it is that there is benefit to looking at an event or situation through one lens, and then evaluating it through another, which often reveals other important points. Using just one framework would not be enough to be "Fletcher."
