Why the LLM? It’s been a few years since I received my LLB and I haven't practiced law for the last couple of years. Instead, I've been working in international development, but with more of an economics approach. I chose the LLM not just because I wanted to go back to study international law, but also because I knew I wanted to return to the field of law as well. I see the LLM at The Fletcher School as a crucial next step in my career. During the time I practiced, I focused on private law. I was deeply motivated by the profession, but I did not manage to satisfy my need to make a true contribution to the society. Since then, I have developed my passions through my academic background in public policy, my work experience with J-PAL, and my volunteer experience at Amnesty International. Now, I am excited to pursue a career at the intersection of economics, international public law, and human rights. I want to use my time at The Fletcher School to deepen my skillset and focus on how to apply my skills to improve the lives of disadvantaged communities.

On the classroom experience: I am really pleased to be back at school and at Fletcher! The high level of discussion in the classroom, which is needed to process tons of readings, makes the learning experience much more valuable. This might sound repetitive, but the diversity within each class and the innumerable points of view given by students of completely different backgrounds makes the discussions so rich. Also, the faculty members are so experienced in the topics they teach that the theoretical contents are enriched by them. Every class is interesting and I feel like I learn something each day.
