On collaboration and teamwork at Fletcher: Fletcher is one of the most collaborative environments I’ve ever worked in. The students here are competitive but only with themselves. This makes for a community where everyone wants to work together and help one another. Classes here are built around the idea of teamwork. All four of my classes have team projects or study groups. Some of these groups are focused on getting through the (sometimes mountainous) amount of reading we have each week, while others are group projects focused around case analysis or stock valuation. These teams are a great way to meet new people, develop a new group of friends, and learn from each other.

How Fletcher has changed my perspective: Much of my experience before coming to Fletcher had centered in and around Washington, DC and had been less international than I would have liked. In the couple of short months since I arrived on campus, my way of looking at the world has changed dramatically and the different perspectives and experiences of my fellow classmates have caused much of that change. One great example is the number of international students here. At Fletcher you are immediately exposed to a class that is 40 to 45% foreign nationals. With this diversity, my classes have included a variety of perspectives that I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise.
