Why I chose Fletcher: As a lawyer working in international aid and development, I was looking for a place to deepen my knowledge of international law and global affairs. After considering a number of LL.M programs, I chose Fletcher because of its interdisciplinary curriculum, scholar-practitioner faculty, and prominent alumni network. Having worked under the leadership of a Fletcher alumnus, I was constantly meeting other Fletcher alumni who were practicing in a number of capacities in international organizations, government aid agencies and non-government organizations. Each of them spoke highly of their Fletcher experiences, the quality of its teaching, and the strength and diversity of its student body. I know at Fletcher that I am amongst future international practitioners and leaders.

What makes Fletcher:  It is the diversity of the Fletcher community that enables a truly interdisciplinary learning environment. The LL.M program currently consists of sixteen lawyers from twelve different countries. We all have different backgrounds and work experience within the government, the military, the private sector, and the non-government sector. Together we constitute a diverse body of knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. I am constantly gaining new viewpoints from my peers, examining issues from a different angle, and testing long held assumptions. My interactions outside of classroom are a rich source of learning, and I have been able to deepen my subject matter knowledge across a broad array of disciplines, such as international criminal law, environmental issues, security studies, and economic policies.
