Why I chose Fletcher: I was initially drawn to Fletcher for a number of reasons, including the flexible curriculum, top-notch faculty, and diverse student body. When it came time to choose among schools, however, it was Fletcher’s terrific alumni network that made my decision easy. Every alumnus I met gave incredibly positive feedback on Fletcher, whether we were discussing courses, the Office of Career Services, or life in Boston. They clearly valued their Fletcher education, and were drawing on it regularly to accomplish very impressive things. What’s more, these individuals were friendly, engaging, and open; they were the kind of people with whom you’d love to learn, travel, study or work. I realized quickly that I wanted to be a part of their community.

On campus life: From movie screenings to mock debates, salsa lessons to weekend hikes, the Fletcher calendar is always full. Campus life here is incredibly strong, reflecting the diverse experiences and interests of the student body. No matter what your passions are, you can find a way to pursue them at Fletcher with like-minded classmates. I know Fletcherites who are mentoring undergraduates, playing bridge, working with refugee families in Boston, editing journals, brewing beer, organizing environmental conferences, practicing their foreign language skills in a conversation club, and the list goes on. Student activities are a strong tradition at Fletcher, creating a vibrant campus life that extends well beyond the classroom.
