On the flexibility of the curriculum: The flexibility of the program at Fletcher is certainly one of the school’s greatest attributes. Here you have the ability to specialize as much as you would like, while still maintaining the option of taking a wide breadth of courses from many different disciplines and regional focuses. It’s an excellent chance to shape your education to meet your own needs and interests, and challenge yourself to study subjects you might know nothing about.

Something that has surprised me about Fletcher: What has surprised me the most about Fletcher is the strong correlation in subject matter between classes from different departments. Whether it is a discussion on human rights, oil pipelines or statistical research, there is often an example I can cite from another class that has touched on the issue from a different perspective. It has certainly helped elucidate how beneficial a broad based education is for my personal and professional development.
