Ashraf Elhofy is in the process of completing his Master’s in Public Health at Tufts University School of Medicine and is scheduled to graduate in August 2011. Subsequently, he will begin medical school at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ashraf’s academic pursuits in public health and medicine stem from his interest in emerging infectious diseases. His research interests include understanding the relationship of infectious disease and resilience in the context of complex adaptive systems. Because of Ashraf’s professional and undergraduate background in electrical engineering he naturally gravitates towards system based frameworks. Having both a medical and engineering background Ashraf hopes to bring a unique perspective to the editorial team.
