Something that has surprised me about Fletcher : Everybody speaks of how diverse the Fletcher community is, and they are right. I have met people who have worked in development, the military, financial services, media, government and who were humanitarians. They are from all over the world too! The one thing I find most striking me most is that everyone is extremely passionate about their field of study and expertise; it's something rare and contagious at the same time. When I hear Dania talking about Pakistan, or Katarina talking about security in Serbia, or Professor Church talking about corruption, I feel as though I never want the conversations to end so I can continue learning.

How has Fletcher broadened my global perspective: Fletcher has broadened my perspective by introducing me to people from all over the world. You can spend a lot of time studying or even living in a country, but hearing the perspective of someone who was born and raised in that country helps you understand it even more. It is one thing to theoretically discuss child labor in the cotton industry in Uzbekistan, but to have a conversation with someone who has experienced this as a child is even more impactful.
