Meet Our Staff

Jessica Smith



Jessica Smith is the Director of the Office of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing (C/PR&M) at The Fletcher School. Jessica joined Fletcher after 12 years with PBS's award-winning investigative documentary series FRONTLINE, where she led all facets publicity, educational outreach, social media and advertising for the series. Prior to joining the educational sector, Jessica designed and executed publicity and grassroots promotion campaigns for clients Novartis, Amgen, Pfizer and Sepracor at Feinstein Kean Healthcare, a division of Ogilvy PR.

Taraneh Pettinato

Assistant Director of Public Relations


Taraneh Pettinato is the International Media Relations Specialist for the Fletcher School. Tara joined Fletcher from the national promotions team at WGBH in Boston, where she led the publicity efforts for a variety of iconic PBS television series including This Old House, Ask This Old House, and Rough Cut - Woodworking with Tommy Mac, as well as educational programming for children. Prior to her work at WGBH, Tara conducted media outreach for a variety of SHIFT Communications' technology clients including Novell.

Stephanie Daly

Communications Specialist


As Communications Specialist, Stephanie Daly supports the department's core functions including updating the Fletcher website and assisting with various public relations activities. Stephanie is a graduate of Northeastern University, where she earned her degree in journalism and completed two consecutive co-ops at The Boston Globe and During her time at Northeastern, she studied journalism in Egypt, Syria and Qatar, and photography in Venice, Italy.
Catherine Murphy

Multimedia Designer/Web Specialist

Catherine Murphy is the Multimedia Designer/Web Specialist at The Fletcher School. She is responsible for managing and producing The Fletcher School's website and overseeing the rollout and maintenance of the underlying content management system. Prior to working at Fletcher, Catherine was the web manager at PRI's "The World" a public radio program produced by PRI, BBC, and WGBH in Boston. The website earned the Edward R. Murrow award, Radio Network/Syndication Service, for best small market news website following an extensive redesign and relaunch under her supervision. More recently, Catherine also worked as the web manager for Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center.
