N. Korea Seeking to Become World Force in Meth Production: Professor Lee Comments

The US Drug Enforcement Administration, or DEA, accuses five men, apprehended and brought to New York City last week, of offering to traffic massive quantities of North Korean-produced meth to the US.

North Korean specialist Sung-Yoon Lee of [The Fletcher School,] Tufts University in Boston says that meth would be only the latest venture by North Korean state officials into the illicit drug trade.

Since the mid 19'70s, North Korean diplomatic officials have been arrested and deported from more than a dozen countries.

Traditionally, the Hermit Kingdom's narcotic-of-choice has been heroin.
