Improved Relations with Iran?: Professor Martel Weighs In

William C. Martel is Associate Professor of International Security Studies at The Fletcher School, Tufts University.

After more than three decades of tension and distrust, a new President and his charm offensive have caused hopes for better relations. But skepticism remains… about what Iran’s intentions are – and how other actors like Syria and Israel could play a role.

Sarwar Kashmeri, adjunct professor at Norwich University and Fellow at the Foreign Policy Association. He is the author of "NATO 2.0; Reboot or Delete" and "America and Europe After 9/11 and Iraq; The Great Divide".

Masood Samii: Director of the Institute for International Business and chair of the international business department at Southern New Hampshire University – and former chief economist for OPEC. He was born in Iran but educated in the United States. His most recent trip to Iran was in the summer of 2011.

Reza Jalili:  Founding member of the Forum for Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at New England College where he is a professor of economics and accounting. He emigrated to the U.S. from Iran about 35 years ago to pursue his education.
