On Monday, August 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Cabor 206 of the The Fletcher School at Tufts University (160 Packard Avenue, Medford).You are invited to attend a panel discussion with participants in the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program, a month-long opportunity for high-school age Iraqi students to develop their understanding of civic involvement, leadership, and cross-cultural communication, sponsored by the US Embassy in Baghdad. The 12 students will share reflections on their week at World Learning’s SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, Vermont, their two weeks of activities in the Boston area, and their experiences as young people growing up in Iraq.
The public forum will be a panel discussion that highlights the youths’ perspectives on the current situation in Iraq, as well as their experience here in the United States. The students will present for 30 minutes, and then initiate a question and answer, town-hall style session.
The Iraq Young Leaders Exchange Program in Boston is organized by Global Youth Leadership Institute (
www.gyli.org), a local non-profit organization, while the overall program is administered by World Learning (www.worldlearning.org), a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C.
