Wordsmith, Palantir Technologies - New York, NY

Getting focus at Fletcher: It was at Fletcher where I learned that I wanted to write for a living. Getting back into the swing of regular writing (for classes, for projects, for fun) convinced me that it's all I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I first heard about my current employer, Palantir, from a Fletcher alum and then again on the Fletcher career trip. When I discovered that they had a job actually called "Wordsmith," I figured it couldn't get any more perfect than that!

How I came to Fletcher: Before Fletcher, I was stuck in an uninspiring job, and started taking a class at the Harvard Extension School to use my brain again. That class was on climate change and policy, and was taught by Fletcher's own William Moomaw. I had already been considering applying to Fletcher, but he pushed me over the edge. I enrolled in both of his classes during my first semester, and ultimately became his research assistant. He retired before my second year, but remained active on campus. He is a pinnacle in the environmental community and an inspiration to us all, and I feel so grateful that I can count him as a mentor.
