Something that has surprised me about Fletcher: The thing that has most surprised me about Fletcher, and at the same time has made me most excited about my experience here, is the attitude of the faculty. Repeatedly I was told that the faculty was here for the students, and we should feel free to come by just to chat. I couldn't believe that I had so many incredibly accomplished and intelligent people willing to provide me with the guidance I had so been hoping for. I slowly learned that the faculty truly meant it, so I contacted a wide variety of Professors whose opinion I wanted to hear. Each one provided different insight and was equally willing to take the time to get to know me.
On a quintessential Fletcher moment: My first quintessential Fletcher moment occurred during orientation. Dean Bosworth began his speech by saying, "I hope you are all okay with the fact that you are entering a marriage. You now have a life long relationship with the Fletcher school." That is the moment I repeated to everyone when they asked how school was going, and it immediately made me realize Fletcher was the right place for me. This was a place I wanted to be married to, and even though I have only been here a short time, the thought of leaving deeply upsets me.
