Jacqueline Lehmann, 2013, Switzerland

Why I chose Fletcher: I chose the Fletcher School simply because it offers everything I had been looking for in a graduate program: the possibility to acquire in-depth knowledge in an environment that thrives on discussion; interactivity between students, teachers, cultures and communities; and real-life experience. Moreover, the vivid community offers an extraordinary opportunity to meet people of all backgrounds who share the passion to learn and connect with one another. The flexible schedule and the quality of the faculty round out my experiences, making the Fletcher School the best possible fit for my interests and future career goals.

How has Fletcher broadened your global perspective? Fletcher has definitely broadened my global perspective by enabling me to meet people from all over world and with such different backgrounds. There's nothing more valuable (and interesting, too!) than hearing first-hand experiences about development irrigation projects in Kenya, military operations in Iraq, or humanitarian emergencies around the world. Whether I'm in classes, attending a lecture with an astounding guest speaker, catching up with friends in the hallway, or participating in a serious discussion with a student group, everyone has a unique perspective and experience to add, which creates an incredibly stimulating and enriching environment.
