Why I chose Fletcher: Coming from a background in business and industry, I chose Fletcher because of the broad curriculum and active student organizations that provide extensive opportunities to explore today's most pressing issues both in theory and in practice. For me, this translated into the ability to assess the mechanics of the energy industry, to better understand the complexity of climate challenges we face today, and to closely examine the political systems and theories that help explain behavior of nations and institutions seeking to reorient themselves in the face of present challenges.

How I first learned about Fletcher: I first learned about Fletcher when I was working for The Boeing Company in the International Relations department. My time in that organization opened my eyes to two issues: in order to thrive, certain industries must effectively engage in a global, complex and multi-faceted business environment and that some of the most gifted and effective professionals in this arena were Fletcher alumni. After meeting with dozens of alumni across a variety of industries, I was sold on the value of the school and, even more so, on the value of the student and alumni network.
