Why I chose Fletcher: I knew that Fletcher was the
right place for me when I first began researching graduate schools.
After implementing agriculture and gender programs in West Africa for
five years, I wanted a program that would challenge my understanding of
international development work and expose me to influential scholars in
a broad range of disciplines. Since arriving on campus, I am amazed at
how much I am constantly learning at Fletcher and how this is
influencing how I view the world. From conversations with renowned
professors to study sessions with students that have lived and worked
all over the world, Fletcher fosters a deeply academic and
collaborative environment.
How I plan to use my experience at Fletcher to make a difference in the world: I
plan to use my Fletcher education and the economic and policy analysis
tools I have learned here to continue to work in international
development. I would like to return to a field-based position to expand
the reach of rural agricultural programs. I know that my Fletcher
degree will prepare me to adapt to the changing needs of underdeveloped
communities.
