How I first learned about Fletcher: I was
researching graduate schools and was interested in programs that had
flexible curriculums which would allow me the opportunity to study
diverse fields such as economics, law, finance and banking. The
Fletcher School appeared in one of my searches and, ironically enough,
I learned that our first Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka,
John Exter, was an alumnus. That fact cemented my research. I continued
to speak about Fletcher with colleagues and alumni of the program for
further details, and the rest is history.
On the international life I see for myself after Fletcher:
Once I conclude my studies, I will return to the Central Bank of Sri
Lanka. At the Central Bank, I see vast field openings in dealings with
the IMF, World Bank, and nations in the world. I will be able to play
an international role within the Central Bank by representing the Bank
and the government of Sri Lanka in international forums (foreign
affairs committees, holding in the World Bank and the IMF).
