Anurag What you hope to achieve through the MA program: I joined the MA program because it was one of the few one-year programs around the globe for mid-career professionals and because I was looking to re-skill myself after a dozen years of hiatus from my last educational degree. At Fletcher and at Harvard Business School, I hope to pursue courses with a focus on general management and finance.

Prior experience:

I have more than a decade-and-a-half of diverse international private sector experiences, ranging from strategic consulting to managing a P&L account.

My consulting experiences have spanned a decade having worked with IBM’s Global Management Consulting division, E&Y’s Business Advisory Services division and M&M’s Group Corporate Strategy department. The engagements I handled at these firms required me to advise the boards and managements of organizations with ways to increase their revenue base, to rationalize their costs or to improve their operational efficiencies. My role involved ensuring delivery of engagement promises to clients, generating new business and managing people’s careers. These engagements also required me to travel internationally and to manage client relationships across all the six continents, while also exposing me to the inner workings of a whole gamut of industries spread across manufacturing, distribution, services and trading sectors.

My industry experiences, which spanned the first half of his career, included stints with Infosys Technologies Limited (Global Information Technology firm) and HSBC (Global Banking and Insurance firm). At HSBC I managed large operations, sales teams and customer service teams, while also incubating a separate new team in East India to drive the adoption of direct banking channels (internet, phone & ATM banking) for HSBC customers. In these roles, I helped generate new business for the bank, met the customer expectations for HSBC and also create new capabilities for HSBC’s growth in India.

Prior to HSBC, my first job was with Infosys Technologies Limited, wherein I grew with the firm to start leading consulting and software projects, to meet client expectations and deliverables, and to support the organization in developing new business. A part of my experience was based in the USA and required me to consult with large financial institutions there to help them improve their operations using technology.
