Marshall, United States/ United Kingdom
Paxton has dual citizenship, British and American. He lived in Botswana until the age of fifteen, when he moved to the UK to attending the Stowe School, where he completed his O’Levels. He then attended one year of high school in America before training with the New York City Ballet School (SAB). He was a professional artist with the Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Paxton then attended the University of Miami, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a major in clinical psychology and minors in political science, anthropology, architecture and biology.
Paxton attended Tulane Law School, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was a member of Tulane Law Review and the Order of the Coif. He worked at Clifford Chance, in New York for three years before making a lateral move to join Weil Gotshal’s Miami office. After several years at Weil, he moved to Carlton Fields, before establishing himself with a smaller boutique litigation firm which focused on specific clients and areas of commercial litigation. After having practiced general commercial litigation in a broad range of areas --healthcare, labor law, commercial creditor/debtor actions, franchise law, general tort and breach of contract as well as Alien Tort Claims Act issues-- solely in the private sector, the Fletcher LL.M. will serve to focus Paxton’ acquired skill set back to the international sphere and hopefully allow him to practice law in the areas he has most enjoyed during his professional career.
