Nicole Talbot, 2013


Nicole Talbot worked for the U.S. Department of State as a Senior Rule of Law Advisor in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2009-2012.  She was embedded with the U.S. military for a year in Anbar, Iraq and a year in Kirkuk, Iraq.  Most recently, Attorney Talbot has just returned from a year embedded with U.S. and NATO military forces in Northern Afghanistan.  She worked with legal actors in both countries to establish functioning police, prosecutors, defense bar, judiciary, and legal education, to promote the legitimacy of the government in the hearts and minds of its citizenry.  Prior to her overseas service, Attorney Talbot practiced law for six years in Littleton, Massachusetts.

Nicole has a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, as well as a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.  She grew up outside of Boston and presently lives in Groton, MA with her husband and three dogs.  Her interests are the Rule of Law in post-conflict and developing societies.
