Come and learn about the first of its kind Intergovernmental Organization that was created entirely through a private initiative and was not started or funded by any government or government organization. WSA International Business Consortium is unique in that it develops Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programs and projects at the international and national levels, to create income generating business activities, in order to finance, implement and sustain extracurricular youth training & educational programs and Youth Sports Community Centers on the territory of its Member States.  Its unique Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model seeks to create for profit commercial activities which enable these Centers of Excellence and social programs to be self funding and self sustaining, all while furthering the progress of the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.

Since its creation in 2007, WSA has achieved the accession of 27 sovereign states, and has a pipeline of fully funded and committed projects valued at $5.5 billion. These projects are in the sectors of Waste to Energy and Waste to Fertilizer. In addition to meeting Private Sector Participants’ earnings requirements, the WSA PPPs fulfill portions of a Member State’s existing requirements in Energy and Fertilizer on a green basis and fund Centers of Excellence and Youth social programs within the territories of the participating Member States at a savings or at no additional cost to the nation.

Executive Biography

Mr. Dimitri P. Madouros has been with the World Sports Alliance (WSA) since its creation in 2007 and is the Senior Adviser to the President for Strategic Planning and Chief of Operations. WSA is an International Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) that seeks to use sport as a catalyst to implement social programs for at-risk youths worldwide in support of the U.N. Millennium Development Goals.

WSA is unique among IGOs in that it was created entirely through a private initiative and was not initiated or funded by any government or government organization. It is also unique in that its Public Private Partnership model seeks to create for profit commercial activities which will enable its Centers of Excellence and Youth Social Programs to be self funding and remain self sustaining.

Since its creation in 2007, WSA has achieved the accession of 27 sovereign states, and has a pipeline of fully funded and committed projects valued at $5.5 billion. These projects are in the sectors of Waste to Energy and Waste to Fertilizer. In addition to meeting Private Sector Participants’ earnings requirements, the WSA PPPs fulfill portions of a Member State’s existing requirements in Energy and Fertilizer on a Green basis and will fund the roll-out of WSA’s Centers of Excellence within the territories of the participating Member States at a savings or at no additional cost to the nation.

Prior to WSA, Mr. Madouros spent his career initiating and growing a series of successful start-ups in the Shipping, Textile, Specialty Oil, Community Banking, and Technology sectors.

Most recently, Mr. Madouros helped found and develop Pixlog.com, a Brazilian social networking site, which within a year of operations reached over two million visitors per month and served as the beta for LivelyUp.com, the communication portal for The World Sports Alliance.

Prior to Pixlog.com, Mr. Madouros was one of the four founders of Interbank of New York, a de novo New York State Commercial Bank and served as a Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors from 1990-2004. The business was ultimately sold to a major European bank after growing to approximately $1.0 billion in assets.

Prior to Interbank, Mr. Madouros established Elf Aquitaine’s first permanent sales presence in the U.S. for marine lubricants. The agency relationship was the only independent agency in the ELF network and dealt exclusively with marine lubricating oils, and at its peak accounted for approximately 30% of ELF’s U.S. sales of marine lubricants.

Mr. Madouros began his career in the Shipping and Textile industries in various management positions. He received his BA with departmental honors from Hamilton College and his MBA, Beta Gamma Sigma, from St. John’s University. He was in the United States Army serving with the Infantry in Vietnam and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge.
