In today’s intensifying pace of financial, geopolitical, social and cultural change, radical economic power shifts especially the surge of emerging markets are outstripping the enterprises’ ability to anticipate, navigate and thrive. Indeed “the front page is colliding with the business page” and in many cases informing radical reinvention of business opportunities and models in energy, agriculture, infrastructure, transportation, defense, finance and consulting.

The Institute for Business in the Global Context calls forth a new model in international business education to address these pressing needs to couple hard core business competencies with soft power in government relations, foreign language abilities and conflict resolution. With a unique focus on the emerging markets, we have several major initiatives that aim to assist global business meet their talent, research, consulting and networking needs:

Master of International Business (MIB) degree program – a unique hybrid degree, which builds on an international MBA core curriculum and infuses key coursework in International Affairs in era where success in international business clearly requires both skill sets.

Executive Education – with past clients such as Raytheon and Microsoft, Fletcher’s executive education offerings include training of country and regional managers, geopolitical and political economic briefings for senior management and boards, and more. Providing tailored solutions and emphasis on international perspective, Fletcher’s executive education program serves the unique needs of today’s global businesses.

Institute for Business in the Global Context Speaker Series - bringing global and business leaders from across the public and private sectors to Fletcher to exchange insights with our diverse student body and create thought leadership on current international business, geopolitical, economic and trade topics.

Consulting Program – for sponsoring organizations, including MNCs, consulting firms, public/private entities, entrepreneurs and their start ups, Fletcher students consult and develop actionable solutions for executives facing strategic international decisions. Challenging international projects that require a multi-disciplinary approach, cross-cultural and foreign language skills are successfully addressed.
