Leonor Echeverria, 2009, Costa Rica

 Manager, Latin American
and Caribbean Coordination Center
Escazu, Costa Rica

Completing this program was an exceptional opportunity, as it enormously enriched my academic background and my understanding of political, economic and security issues through the view of professionals from a varied range of cultures and backgrounds. When I joined GMAP, I was expecting excellence from the outstanding faculty given Fletcher’s worldwide reputation in the field of international relations. Not surprisingly, I was completely satisfied in this regard. Yet, in my experience, the program’s highlight was learning so much from my fellow classmates. The daily interaction with them through projects, discussion boards, and team meetings made the learning experience so much deeper than I originally expected because of the level of seniority and expertise that each individual had within their own fields. After GMAP,
I feel much more competent as a leader at the
international law firm where I work.
