Armenuhi Mkrtchyan Central Bank of Armenia Fletcher School Tufts IBGC CEME Gates Foundation Leadership Program for Financial Inclusion Residency Fellows 2013

My policy idea: My policy idea is that a balanced approach in policy making, pursuing development of  both supply side and demand side factors, is necessary to impede financial inclusion. Demand side factors – financial consumer protection and financial literacy – should be strengthened to balance the policy in Armenia.

Why I came to the Leadership Program: Financial inclusion, financial consumer protection, and financial education are comparatively new disciplines, and one can find not much in academic literature to learn about. The best way here is peer learning. This program has an effective combination of presenting best thought in the field with an effective peer learning platform.

What I have learned that has been very helpful: Lot of things. On one side I updated vital skills such as team management, persuasion, negotiation, and research skills, on the other side I have a new look on how things can be done or done in a better way.
