Gabriel Arrisueno, Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion of Peru

Fletcher School Tufts IBGC CEME Gates Foundation Leadership Program for Financial Inclusion Residency Fellows 2013 Gabriel Arrisueno Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion of Peru

My policy idea: My policy idea is how to use financial education as a bridge between the financial sector and the most vulnerable populations in Peru in the context of branchless banking.

Why I came to the Leadership Program: I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to have reflection time and see what innovations other countries are designing and implementing.

What I have learned that has been very helpful: The focus on how to use persuasion and negotiation for policy design and implementation, and how to engage other actors such as the media.

How this program will help me create better regulation and policy in my country: I am getting a lot from my peers-they come from different backgrounds so I have learned what has and hasn't worked in other countries.
