The ceremony will include: the entrance processional; Dean’s welcome; songs by the Ambassachords; Alumni greeting by Paulo Bilyk, F’92, Chief Investment Officer, Rio Bravo Investments and member of the Fletcher Board; presentation of the Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in the conduct of public diplomacy to Gloria Berbena, Public Affairs Officer at the US Interests Section in Havana; presentation of the Robert B. Stewart Prize to an outstanding first year student; presentation of the Edmund A. Gullion Prize to an outstanding second year student; presentation of the Leo Gross Law Prize to an outstanding student of international law; presentation of the Peter Ackerman award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation, presentation of class gifts; address by Dean Stephen W. Bosworth.

Phase I, All-University Commencement Ceremony - Lawn outside Ballou Hall (For all members of the Class of 2013, guests, alumni, and Fletcher community members)

Ceremony includes the academic processional, the awarding of degrees by Schools including the official award of the Fletcher degree by Dean Bosworth, the awarding of honorary degrees, and the All-University Commencement address.

Phase II, Fletcher Commencement ceremony - Tent on Fletcher field

(For graduating students who will receive degrees or are approved to march, guests, alumni, and Fletcher community members)

Ceremony includes the entrance processional; Dean’s welcome; presentation of Dean Emeritus Certificate; awarding of the Paddock prize for excellence in teaching to a member of the faculty selected by the students; address by the Paddock award recipient; remarks by two graduating students selected by the Class of 2013: Joon Kim and Valerie Ullrich; the individual awarding of Fletcher diplomas and PhD hooding; recessional.

(For all members of the Class of 2013, guests, alumni, and Fletcher community members)

*The Class of 2013 includes both graduating students who will march and receive degrees and those who are members of the class but who have not yet completed all degree requirements. Members of the Class of 2013 who will not receive degrees are still encouraged to march in the Saturday Class Day ceremony as well as the All University Commencement (Phase I) on Sunday morning. During Phase II, Fletcher Commencement (11:15 on Sunday), only those who will be receiving their degree or have permission are able to march. Permission to march without completing all degree requirements is as follows: For those in the MA or LLM degree program, no more than one degree requirement can be outstanding.
