The Future of the Japan-US Alliance

Fletcher's Japan Club is pleased to announce the lecture by Lieutenant General Koichi ISOBE (Ret.). This event is on Tuesday, December 11 at 2:00 pm in Cabot 702. General Isobe currently serves as Senior Fellows to Harvard University Asia Center and Asia Pacific Initiative. In the event, he will talk about the future of Japan-US alliance, focusing on the Operation Tomodachi - the biggest joint disaster relief operation between Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) and the US Forces ever. In 2011, a great earthquake hit the Tohoku region of Japan, which eventually caused over 15,000 deaths. He will reflect on his experience of the biggest disaster relief operation in JSDF's history. Further, he will propose some recommendations about the future of the alliance. I know you might be busy preparing for exams, but I can guarantee that this will be worth visiting. To secure your seats, please RSVP here! Pizza will be served.
