The 2018 Mexico’s general elections are scheduled to be held on 1st July 8, 2018. Mexican voters will elect a new president to serve for a six-year term (with no reelection), 500 members of the Chamber of Deputies and 128 members of the Senate. The members of the legislature elected on this date will be the first allowed to run for re-election in subsequent elections. Also, for the first time with access to independent nominees for a Presidential election. This process is being organized by a new and reformed National Electoral Institute (INE) that will be in charge of supervising the voting activity in 32 states of Mexico, with a total of 88 million voters, 156,000 vote centers and with 1.4 million citizens that will be trained to integrate the polling tables. During the Conference, Consul General of Mexico, Dr. Emilio Rabasa will explain the complexity and the strength of the electoral system in Mexico.
