9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
This half-day event is aimed at graduate students and practitioners who are interested in conducting field research and evaluation. It will discuss the Lean Research approach, based on an initiative to produce more rigorous, relevant, right-sized, respectful research in vulnerable settings. The Lean Research approach acknowledges that research is an intervention and explicitly engages with questions of power. Key pillars relate to navigating dilemmas of methodology and ethics and considering the impact of different decisions on the research participants throughout the research cycle, from designing research projects to practices of data collection and data dissemination.
