Where Are We On Climate Change In 2014?
Please join us for a lively debate between two of our renowned energy and environment faculty, Professors William Moomaw and Bruce Everett, on climate change and the shifting international energy landscape. Lunch provided.
William Moomaw is a pioneering authority on integrating science and technology into international agreements and quantitative indicators of environment and development. He was a coordinating lead author of the 2001 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change chapter on greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and for the special report on renewable energy in 2010. He was a lead author of three other IPCC reports (1995, 2005 and 2007). The work of the IPCC was recognized with the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
Bruce Everett has 40 years of experience with global energy markets. He has served as the Executive Director of Exxon Energy in Hong Kong, Government Relations Manager for ExxonMobil and in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Federal Energy Administration and the U.S. Department of Energy. He currently researches energy and petroleum economics, energy policy, and environmental policy at The Fletcher School.
