A lecture and discussion with Prof. Kelly M. Greenhill on her book, "Weapons of Mass Migration: Forced Displacement, Coercion, and Foreign Policy," the recipient of the 2011 International Studies Association's Best Book of the Year Award.
The work examines "strategically engineered migration," a "widely deployed but largely unrecognized instrument of state influence." Greenhill incorporates case studies of state and non-state actors from Latin America, Southeast Europe and Northeast Asia to develop globally relevant theories.
