Please join Global Women, Gender and Equality Project, Women in International Security, and The Human Rights Project for an event with Dr. Syed Sadiq, Deputy Regional Program Director of UN Women Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands, on Friday November 16 from 10:30am-12:00pm.
Dr. Syed will be joining Fletcher students and faculty for a discussion on his experiences in the field monitoring women's rights in conflict and post-conflict countries.Syed Sadiq A.J. is a human rights and gender professional with over 20 years experience serving in conflict, post-conflict and developing countries. He studied LL.M. at the University of Delhi and PhD in Women’s Rights from The Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, India. Dr. Sadiq has a passion for women and child rights and throughout his higher education and career focused on Gender and Human Rights. Sadiq possess experience and expertise in serving in conflict and post conflict countries and also contributed research articles on Human Rights with focus on women’s rights. Dr. Sadiq joined the UN WOMEN SRO in Johannesburg as a Deputy Regional Program Director on 30 July 2012.
